Hi, I’m Alexandra
Certified Functional Nutritionist
CNP, BSc Nutrition and Dietetics
I’m Alexandra Forys, a Certified Functional Nutritionist (CNP), and the founder of Fig and Field Wellness.
My path into holistic health began early, but it deepened nearly a decade ago when I was forced to confront my own health challenges.
At the time, I was living in a way that felt profoundly out of alignment — chronically stressed, undernourished, and constantly pushing through exhaustion. Over time, my body began to speak up through persistent digestive issues, skin flare-ups, fatigue, and brain fog that left me feeling disconnected from myself and my life.
Like many of the clients I work with now, I was told everything looked “normal.” But it didn’t feel normal in my body.
Instead of accepting these symptoms as something I had to live with, I began searching for answers that addressed why they were happening.
That search led me to a root-cause, systems-based approach to health — one that recognizes how symptoms like skin issues, low energy, digestive discomfort, and hormonal imbalances are often connected, not isolated. An approach that looks at nutrition, lifestyle, stress physiology, and underlying imbalances as pieces of the same story.
This experience became the catalyst for a career shift and a deeper commitment to supporting true healing.
Today, I work with women who feel like something is off — whether it’s their energy, their skin, their digestion, or their overall sense of balance — but haven’t been given real answers.
Through a personalized, root-cause approach, I support clients in uncovering what’s driving their symptoms and help them rebuild their health from the inside out.
My work integrates evidence-informed nutrition, lifestyle strategies, targeted supplementation, and functional testing when appropriate — with a focus on gut health, stress resilience, nervous system support, and the foundational systems that influence how the body heals.
At Fig and Field Wellness, the goal isn’t quick fixes or symptom suppression. It’s about understanding the body’s signals, addressing root causes, and creating sustainable changes that support long-term vitality, clarity, and wellbeing.
Your symptoms are not merely inconveniences, they are messages.
My Philosophy
Your symptoms are not random.
They’re your body’s way of asking for support.
Rather than isolating one symptom at a time, I take a whole-body approach — looking at how your digestion, stress response, detox pathways, and daily habits are all connected.
Because healing doesn’t come from chasing symptoms.
It comes from understanding why they’re happening in the first place.
My Holistic Approach
My Holistic Approach
-

Whole Person Health Assessment
Every system in the body is deeply interconnected, as are your thoughts, emotions, and environment. True healing begins when we look at the whole person, not just the symptoms.
-

Advanced Lab Testing
I utilize advanced functional lab testing to identify root causes to your recurring symptoms and health conditions. Together, we will determine which tests are best for you.
-

Personalized Nutrition + Lifestyle Plan
I will take the insights gained from your health assessment and lab testing to determine the best functional nutrition plan to achieve your heath goals and support your body in the healing process. Lifestyle factors such as sleep, stress, exercise, and environment will be addressed as well.
-

Supplementation Support
A combination of medicinal herbs and advanced nutritional supplements will assist in speeding up and supporting the healing process. The specific combination of supplements used will change throughout the process, depending on what the body needs.
If you’re feeling disconnected from your health and ready to explore a more grounded, root-cause approach, I’d love to support you. Learn more about working together.
A little more about me
-
The name Alexandra comes from the Greek words alexein (“to defend”) and aner (“man”). It feels like a quiet reminder of my purpose. To help others protect and nurture their well-being.
-
My dog Baxter is my best friend and I am not afraid to admit it! If you have a dog I would of course like to see photos, you don’t even need to ask.
-
Always seeking learning opportunities, either from courses, people around me, or nature! I truly think that if you are constantly seeking opportunities to learn, your life is that much richer and more fulfilling for it.
-
Yes, I am a Nutritionist and love healthy wholesome foods, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love a big cookie, croissant, donut, etc (it’s all about that 80/20 rule). When I am stressed, or need a mood booster, baking always seems to help.

Spending time outdoors recharges my spirit and keeps me grounded. In the warmer months, you’ll usually find me in the garden, out for walks with my husband and dog, up at the family cottage, or playing tennis and biking. In the winter, I trade the sunshine for the slopes and spend my time skiing. I enjoy working on my fitness through weightlifting as well because I want to be a strong and physically independent granny one day :)
